Hong Kong cinema has not had many positive changes in recent years, until the release of Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In, which revived the local cinema after many years of gloom. In the past, there were still some films released, but the action genre was not highly appreciated, partly because the martial arts actors were getting old, partly because there were not many excellent directors left. However, some psychological films still received special attention. And Bodyshop 2022 probably brought a big surprise to the audience, with the bold filmmaking style of director Scud.

The story of the film begins with the ghost of a young soldier who says goodbye to his mother and travels around the world to meet his transgender sister. By possessing living bodies, he interferes in the romance of unfaithful lovers along the way in Taiwan, Japan, Spain and Thailand. He meets a soul mate amid the massive protests in Hong Kong and they take refuge in a camouflaged garage where human bodies are treated in a way that goes beyond ethical limits.
