Roman Perez Jr. remains Vivamax’s top director, with his films often being well received. In fact, they’re better than most of Viva’s other releases at the same time. Las Ilusyunadas, set in a provincial town at the end of martial law in the Philippines, focuses on the close relationships between the military, the rebels, and the civilians. The film has its interesting and impressive parts, from the setting to the psychological developments, but it suffers from a loose plot, slow pacing, and a lot of unnecessary scenes. However, the 90 minutes of this film are still worth watching.

The film begins with the relationship between Emma and Sandra, who are bound by loss and love, finding comfort and passion in each other. However, both are haunted by illusions about their past. As reality and fantasy blur, they navigate guilt, desire, and echoes of their deceased spouse.
