Scud is a household name in Hong Kong cinema, the director behind some of the most notorious and daring BL films. And Love Actually… Sucks! is certainly one of them, focusing on some morally questionable, murderous, incestuous, exploitative and unrequited love affairs. There’s a love triangle between siblings exposed, a love triangle that leads to revenge murder, a ‘The Graduate’ style seduction of an older woman, a shy artist who lusts after and stalks his male model, a wedding ruined by a jealous ex-lover and an obligatory lesbian schoolgirl couple. Each story ends in tragedy.

In this controversial film, the sex scenes are so explicit that they transcend the sex scenes of the movies and often border on pornography. The sex scenes are great and are always popular because they are conservative, well-shot, well-acted and character-driven. As for the content, it is still just a predictable story with no strong connections. Overall, it is not a great work but it is still worth watching.
