This film is similar to the 1990 version, starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. However, it fails to capture the essence of the themes it explores. It is more of a showcase for beautiful, hot actresses. The plot deals with love and loss well, but the production values are not the best. Like most Filipino films, the cinematography is very basic. It lacks atmosphere and mood, which could have really enhanced the plot.
Lovi Poe plays the female lead, a Filipino actress, model and recording artist. She is the daughter of the late action star Fernando Poe Jr., has a good background in acting and is highly regarded for her beauty. She received her first acting award as Best Actress at the 2010 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival for the film Mayohan. That same year, she was also the winner of the FAMAS Best Actress Award for Sagrada Familia.
In terms of content, the film is about two friends, Gabby and Dennis. Gabby is unaware that her best friend is in love with her. However, she is happily dating someone else. Tragedy strikes when her boyfriend, Gabriel, passes away. As Gabby grieves, she turns to her best friend for comfort.
